Specialization

Conductive biofilm analysis and physiology study of exoelectrogenic bacteria with conjugated oligoelectrolytes (COEs)

Bio

I graduated from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China in 2008, with a B.S. in Environmental Science and Engineering. I obtained both M.S. (2010) and Ph.D. degrees (2013) in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, advised by Professor John. M. Regan. My graduate research focused on the investigation and application of microbial functions in bioelectrochemical systems for bioenergy production. I joined Professor Gui Bazan's group in August 2013.

Research

My current research is:

1) Characterizing the material properties of conductive Geobacter biofilms and pili.

2) Physiology study of Geobacter microorganisms with conjugated oligoelectrolytes (COEs).
