Specialization:
Polymer and small-molecule bulk heterojunction (BHJ) photovoltaics
Bio:
I was born in Shanghai, China, and moved early in my life to Normal, a small town in central Illinois. I attended Stanford University and graduated in 2012 with a BS in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Materials Science and Engineering. There, I worked under Professor Stacey Bent to build a knowledge database of organic molecule functionalization of the germanium semiconductor surface. I am now co-advised by Profs. Gui Bazan and Ed Kramer. When not doing research, I enjoy swimming and visual effects film-making
Research:
Since joining Prof. Bazan's lab in 2012, my primary research is in fabricating and analyzing solution-processed polymeric and small-molecule solar cells. I am specifically interested in understanding and controlling the relationship between processing conditions and the resulting heterojunction morphology and electrical properties of the device.
